1. The Tsarskoye Selo palace and park ensemble (the Tsarskoye Selo State Museum-Preserve) is a superb monument of world-ranking architecture and garden-and-park design dating from the eighteenth to early twentieth centuries. A whole constellation of outstanding architects, sculptors and painters made the ideas of their crowned clients a reality here. Tsarskoye Selo is a cluster of very fine examples of Baroque and Classical architecture and it was also the first place in the Russian capital where interiors decorated in the Moderne (Art Nouveau) style appeared.
The compositional centre of the ensemble is the Great Tsarskoye Selo or Catherine palace, a splendid example of the Russian Baroque. Visitors are enraptured by the sumptuous décor of the Great Hall and the Golden Enfilade of state rooms that includes the world-famous Amber Room now returned to life.
2.The Pavlovsk Palace
Despite being a lesser known royal residence, is, in fact, very charming and attractive. The Emperor Paul I had his private estate built as a welcoming and atmospheric place, full of love and family warmth. It did not suffer too much damage during the World War II. The palace houses a truly remarkable collection of eighteenth-century objects and furniture and is surrounded by an English-style scenery park of 600 hectares which still amazes its visitors with both grandeur and picturesque views.
3.The Russian Museum
The museum possesses a vast collection of Russian art: more than 400,000 exhibits from the thirteenth century orthodox icons to the Soviet avant-garde. A visit there is an excellent way to reveal the origins of Russian culture and maybe solve the mystery of Russian soul while also finding answers to some curious questions : Why do Russians go swimming in winter? How is the famous Butter Week celebrated? Why did the ballet become fashionable?
We will also see the largest canvas ever painted by Russian artists, admire the beauty of the folk costumes, discover the reasons behind the fall of the communism. We can also try and answer another question: was it a nightmare or the best time where the Soviet people were the happiest?

Day 4

Duration: 10:00-18:00

1.The Peterhof
It is the Russian Versailles in the Baltic, a set of parks and golden fountains of amazing beauty and grandeur. 150 active fountains are supplied by 1,100 cubic meters of water per second.
Here we will learn to joke like Peter the Great and we will discover how the young people of his time entertained themselves. We will get to see the unparalleled luxury of the royal palace and we will admire the grounds of probably the most famous and beautiful park in Russia.
2. A visit of the underground palaces of the Metro and some deepest stations with full information about the History of their creation.
