Los fines de semana no es tan fácil visitar el Fondo de Diamantes como parece. Se puede comprar las entradas a este museo en el territorio del Kremlin, cerca de la torre Kutafia no las venden. Primero hay que hacer cola en la torre del Pinar para pasar el arco metálico y después hacer otra cola para comprar las entradas al museo en la puerta del Fondo de Diamantes. Pero vale la pena hacer esto. El museo lo recompensa.
A veces todas las entradas se compran por las empresas que organizan las excursiones, pero si faltan personas en el grupo, el guía les puede proponer que formen parte de su grupo porque no siempre las personas que reservan Los visitas en Moscú vienen a la excursión.
Hoy en día las entradas al Fondo de Diamantes cuestan 500 rub. Las visitas empiezan cada 20 minutos. El museo está abierto desde las 10:00 hasta las 17:00. Está prohibido hacer fotos y video. Les aconsejamos dejar las casadoras y los abrigos en la guardaropa. El grupo de 20 personas casi siempre intenta ponerse en un semicírculo para ver mejor los objetos de cada vitrina pero los guardias así como la guía no dejan hacerlo. Primero les dan todas las explicaciones sobre la historia de las piedras y después tiempo para acercarse a las vitrinas y ver los diamantes.
Aunque en la primera vitrina se encuentran las piedras de quarzo, topacios, turmalinas etc en las demás brillan los diamantes de diferentes formas, tamaños y colores.
A los turistas les encanta el mapa de la Federación Rusa echo con pequeños brillantes.
En el centro de la sala se puede ver las vitrinas grandes con las pepitas de oro y de platino de diferentes tamaños. Hay una pepita de oro cuyo peso son 36 kilos. Es la pepita mayor del mundo y se llama “el triángulo grande”. La Gran Corona del Imperio Ruso que pertenecía a la famosa imperatriz Catalina la Grande se encuentra en la sala de las insignias reales. Es una corona de plata cubierta por 4 936 brillantes y decorada por dos filas de perlas con una espinela gigantesca. Después de la imperatriz Catalina la Grande los demás gobernantes rusos tenían el honor de coronarse con esta misma corona. Al lado de la Gran Corona se encuentra la pequeña que pertenecía a la imperatriz María Alexandrovna, aquí se encuentra el ceptro con el diamante famoso “Orlov” y el globo. Se concidera que el conde Orlov regaló este diamante a la imperatriz el día de su cumpleaños. Sin embargo existe otra versión que para adquirir este diamante la imperatriz gastó el dinero de la tesorería del estado y para que no la acusaran inventó una mentira.
El Fondo de Diamantes guarda en su colección una pieza curiosa como el diamante “Cha”, regalado al imperador Nicolás I por un cha de Irán para expiar la culpa por el asesinato del embajador y escritor famoso ruso A.S.Griboedov. El último departamento del Fondo de Diamantes les propone que vean el arte de los órfebres contemporáneos. En total la excursión dura 40 minutos.
